The Southeastern Synod encourages you to use Safe Gatherings to screen and train everyone who works with children, youth and vulnerable adults in your church. Safe Gatherings works with more than 8,500 churches, including 11 ELCA Synods. They make it easy!

The price per applicant for the individual church program is $47, which includes processing of two electronic references, a national and multi county of residence 7-year background check, national and state of residence Sex Offender Registry check, and 2-hour online abuse prevention training. The applicant approval is valid for 3 years.

The training has recently been updated to include specific information about maintaining boundaries during online ministry.
