These individual grants are made possible through a joint project funded by Lutheran Disaster Response and the Southeastern Synod Disaster Ministry Committee.  The Southeastern Synod will select 15 congregations who through their ministries and possible partnerships will provide food for vulnerable people within their community.  Congregations are encouraged to prepare a detailed description of the feeding program they have planned and attach it to this application.  This grant must be used within three months since it is to be used in response to the ongoing COVID-19 Crisis and food insecurity for the summer months.
 
There will be an initial disbursement of $500 and replenished up to $3,000 to each participating congregation.  This grant funding can be used for the procurement of food/supplies needed for distribution of food.  Congregations may provide this service in partnership with a local organization (i.e. School, food bank, social ministry organization).  Congregations who participate in this grant program will be required to provide a report back to the Synod regarding its impact in the community.

Grants will be announced by June 1st.
