Rachel Wrenn, PhD Candidate in Hebrew Bible at Emory University (and member of the Southeastern Synod) was in Guatemala for ILAG's annual Leadership Meeting and National Council. Wrenn writes:
"I will be spending Feb 12-18 with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Guatemala. First I will get to meet the MILAGRO girls and visit the Lutheran Center and school site. Then on February 13-16, pastors and lay leaders from around Guatemala will gather together for ILAG's annual Leadership Meeting and National Council. During these few days, I will lead Bible Studies on the Old Testament for Christians today: how is it relevant? What context helps us understand it? How does knowing the Old Testament more completely help us know Jesus more deeply? As I go to Guatemala, my specific prayer concerns revolve around teaching with an interpreter, preparing the right materials for an unfamiliar context, and that we all might be open to what the Spirit has to teach all of us through these few days. Thank you for your prayers!"
We are proud of Rachel Wrenn for her work in this call to serve and learn from our global partners!
