Saturday, November 13, 2021
10am-12noon ET / 9-11am CT
via ZOOM
an ONLINE gathering of all youth (6th-12th grade) of the Southeastern Synod,
especially those from Tennessee
We will explore what it means to SHARE OUR GOSPEL STORY together by gathering online and learning how God is active in our lives, even when we don't realize it!
And this is what sets our SOUL ON FIRE!
The
“Standing on the Promise” campaign continues in congregations throughout the
ELCA-Southeastern Synod. To date, totals
in pledging/giving are $2.7 million. Recently,
Lutheran Church of Redeemer, Savannah, GA ran a congregational campaign for
Lutheranch, with Susan Tellefsen serving as the congregational leader. Redeemer’s average attendance is 75. Their total giving/pledging for the campaign
totaled $25,720.00.The
Rev. Steve Hilgeman, pastor of Redeemer, shared his thoughts concerning the
congregation’s response to the “Standing on the Promise” campaign. He said that they encouraged members to: “Give
as God leads you to do so and the results will handle themselves." He also
shared that the members focused on the idea that: “It was all about sending children
and families to camp!”Pr.
Hilgeman continued, “It is important to know that this campaign was designed to
be followed immediately by our annual stewardship drive. The congregation knew that and they responded
in kind in the second [stewardship] campaign. The Holy Spirit moved this congregation
significantly. The number of pledging
members has increased and toverall giving has given us the confidence to
increase our proposed budget by an additional 10-12%, if approved at the annual
meeting in January.”Libby
Bedenbaugh, Senior Development Associate remarked, “We are grateful for
congregations like Lutheran Church of Redeemer in Savannah.” She went on to say, “There is still time for
congregations to conduct a campaign before it concludes in January 2015.” If
you would like information on how your congregation can participate, please
