2010 All Alassippi Youth Gathering
Greetings to Alabama & Mississippi Lutheran Youth and Advisors!
July 30th-Aug 1st promises to be an exciting weekend! Many of you have expressed an interest in participating in an All Alassippi ELCA Youth Gathering. Hopefully you have remembered to save this date from the last beach retreat where it was voted to change the event to Summertime, so here is your opportunity. You requested to return to Gulf Shores Christian Beach Retreat in Gulf Shores, Al on this weekend when we left last year. While at the retreat, you will have a chance to meet with other ELCA Lutheran youth from all over Alabama and Mississippi. Both Junior and Senior High are invited to attend.
Our theme for the weekend is Clothed in Christ from highlighting Colossians 3:12-17. Huntsville has planned the devotions for the weekend. We are asking for volunteers to help cook from the churches. This is NOT the person who is chaperoning the youth. Meals have already been planned but help is needed in preparation and serving them at the site. As always, the weekend will be filled with music, games, arts & crafts, fellowship, worship and a service project. (don’t forget your close toed shoes for the work project)
Check in will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday night, or when you can get there, and the weekend concludes by 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. For $80, each individual will get 4 meals, dormitory style bunk bed lodging, T-shirt, food and great fun! Also, if you have a nurse or doctor that would be willing to be on site in case of an emergency, please let me know. If you have youth needing special assistance, please let us know in advance. You have an opportunity to come early and stay on Thursday night for an additional charge of $10 per person. There will be no food served until Saturday morning, so you will be responsible for that.
Registration forms can be found at www.sesyouth.org. for individuals and congregations, a medical release form, policy form and a flyer. Please make appropriate copies and distribute to eligible youth in your congregation. Send back your congregational form with appropriate fees. MAKE ONE CHECK PER CONGREATION PAYABLE TO ALL ALASSIPPI YOUTH GATHERING. Individual forms, filled out completely, should be brought with you. Once I have received your congregational registration, I will email you a schedule of events and a “what-to-bring” list.

If you participated in Last year’s event, you will receive a credit of $7 per person based on last years participation for the T-Shirt you did not receive. If you are in doubt, I have that information.
Register your congregation by July 19th.. There is lots of space this year as we have rented both sides. Encourage your youth to bring friends to share in this fun filled weekend. Cancellations will be refunded with the exception of $25 per individual. We look forward to seeing you at the Alassippi Youth Gathering.
